Who Will Do All My Will

STUDY: # 998- CHURCH IN THE HOUSES FROM: SEPT. 25 @ OCT. 1, 2018

TOPIC: “Who Will Do All My Will” Acts 13:21-22 For David, being a king could have been a luxury, but he had a heart according to God's. Man after my heart! (Vs.22) What a beautiful heart! David’s heart was ready to be God’s place of dwelling. This is how God saw him. It is said that over the years David’s body was very worn out from having been in so many wars. He fought hard to raise a nation, what we know as Israel. God promised Abraham a nation, and David took care of shaping it into God’s nation. Today Israel is in the place that God chose and nobody will ever be able to destroy it. It only took a heart willing to obey, "who will do all my will."

I. Saul, however, did not please God because he was disobedient.

1. Saul did as he thought it was best, and not as God wanted.

2. He captured Agag, king of the Amalekites, and spared his life and that should not have been the case. (1 Samuel 15:9)

3. Saul also made the burnt offering and that responsibility only belonged to Samuel (1 Samuel 13:8-13).

4. Saul wanted to know what to do, what would happen with the Philistines? But God had turned away from Saul and became his enemy (1 Samuel 28:16). Then Saul did the forbidden. He consulted a fortune-teller (1 Samuel 28:6-8).

5. Because of his disobedience, Saul received an evil spirit that tormented him (1 Samuel 16:14).

6. Saul died because of his infidelity. When it came to Jehovah’s word, he did not keep it, making him disloyal to Jehovah!

7. When there is disobedience, all relationship with God is ruptured!

8. God does not favor those who rebel. God favor those who are obedient because they are HUMBLE!

B. Cain was also disobedient. His disobedience led him to kill his brother.

1. Disobedience is full of rebellion, hatred.

2. Abel brought an offering of the firstborn of his sheep to Jehovah; the fattest of the sheep and God liked him.

3. While Cain brought the fruit of the earth, which was not a sacrifice that pleased God.

4. During Cain and Abel’s time, the blood sacrifice had already begun. Adam and Eve had already sinned and God clothed them with robes of furs (Genesis 3:21).

C. Let's look at an obedient person. Moses, in spite of his stutter and fears, he too would do everything that God sent him to do.

1. (Exodus 33:12) Moses found grace in the eyes of Jehovah = he found divine approval.

2. It is when God believes the person to be okay because the person is obedient.

3. When we’re obedient, we see what God seeks in us as sufficient or good!

4. For Moses, there was something that had to be done, free people from under the power of most glorious, strong and great empire.

5. It was not with Moses’ wisdom, it was with the power of God. To overcome the one who was defeating His people.

6. There was nothing humanly strong that Moses had to contribute. Not a better army, nothing!

7. It was God’s power manifested in the hands of a single man, when there were thousands and thousands of well-armed men who could defeat him! Moses had a humble, obedient heart!

8. And he would never feel great, because, it was God who worked, not his human strengths nor abilities.

9. Moses could not believe himself powerful or take the glory away from God, pretending to be great.

10. God approves of those who are obedient and understand that they are not capable of doing anything that God commands them to do with their own strength!

D. (1 Samuel 2:26) Ever since childhood, Samuel was obedient. He grew under divine approval and men.

1. God approves of you! And your love leads you to be approved by the men on this earth.

2. When men approve of you, doors open, making you useful.

3. God approves of you when you’re obedient. You receive instructions from Him and you carry them out.

4. People do not like to be told what to do. Orders and rules make people twist in their inner being.

5. People are proud, lazy, and arrogant. They like to feel powerful and influential. They believe they can do things on their own or with their own strength. They do not want to follow the divine instructions of Heaven!

E. (Luke 1:30) We also see Mary who had divine approval. She had found grace before God.

1. She was obedient, dedicated, and cared about working on doing what God wanted. As God said of David: "Who will do all my will."

2. She carried Emmanuel in her belly. God would do everything He wanted to do on earth to defeat the devil.

3. In that belly grew the mighty God (in the position of Christ) to make His triumphal entry into earth.

4. And through a perfect sacrifice, redeem what the devil had taken as his own, so that your soul could be delivered.

5. With so much manifestation, the glorious entrance of the Messiah on earth would be made!

a. King Herod wanted to kill Him.

b. Angels were seen announcing His arrival.

c. Creation worshipped Him because the star guided people and settled over His birthplace.

d. The wise men brought Him His providence: gold, incense and myrrh.

6. Thus, day by day, Mary saw Him grow in His greatness, power and authority.

7. Mary had to be someone without pride. She had to be obedient, humble, willing not only to have Him, but to take care of Him without feeling great, to see Him by her side as if He were not God, willing to suffer and cry.

8. If now they worship her, that's the devil's doing, not because she wanted it.

9. She was another daughter, chosen to do "all His will."

10. Obedient, gentle and she had divine approval.

11. What about you? Do you love and pursue obedience? Amen.
