Amós usa una pregunta para enseñar un principio espiritual: la verdadera unidad requiere acuerdos. Hoy nadie anda con nadie, porque no se está de acuerdo ni en un color; nuestra forma de hablar, de pensar y de actuar está siempre sometida al yo, y más en estos tiempos en que el pensamiento es "a mí no me manda nadie". Pero si somos el cuerpo de Cristo, todos tenemos que aprender lo mismo. No se puede caminar juntos si no hay armonía en propósito, y no se puede andar con Dios si el corazón va por otro camino.
I.¿Andarán dos juntos, si no estuvieren de acuerdo? (Amós 3:3).
AA. El profeta razona desde la naturaleza.
1.
¿Rugirá el león en la selva sin haber presa? ¿Dará el leoncillo su rugido desde su guarida?
2.
Son cosas propias de la naturaleza, que tienen que tener una razón para manifestarse.
3.
Hoy nadie anda con nadie, y esa es la razón: no se está de acuerdo ni en un color.
BB. Para que las ovejas funcionen necesitan un pastor que las guíe.
1.
Dios nos deja la palabra para que seamos conocedores; ella es la que nos educa y nos enseña.
2.
Cada uno tiene su libro escrito y desarrolla su pensamiento según su gusto.
3.
Nunca he encontrado una oveja que se parezca a otra, ni tú te has encontrado con una que se parezca a ti.
CC. Todo en nosotros está sometido al yo.
1.
Lo que hablamos, lo que decimos, lo que pensamos y los actos que hacemos están siempre sometidos a lo que es uno.
2.
Y más en estos tiempos de tanta liberación, en los que el pensamiento es: a mí no me manda nadie.
3.
Hoy es más fácil que cada cual tenga su opinión y diga lo que quiera, porque en la vida mía que nadie se meta.
4.
Este mensaje no trae por sí solo una mejoría en el ser humano: lo que adquirimos en las Escrituras es conocimiento para los que queremos ser espirituales.
II.La verdadera unidad requiere acuerdo.
AA. La unidad tiene un código.
1.
Seas amigo, compañero, familia, hermano, padre, madre o primo, para tener una unidad hay que llegar a acuerdos.
2.
Y no nos gusta llegar a acuerdos.
3.
Si somos el cuerpo de Cristo, tenemos que saber que todos tenemos que aprender lo mismo.
4.
Si dices que haces lo que tú quieras, entonces tú no eres el cuerpo, punto.
BB. Cuando somos unidos, nos duele lo del otro.
1.
Cuando nos amamos, nos duele si a alguien le pasa algo y nos alegramos cuando le va bien.
2.
Lo último que quieres es afectar a la persona, porque no es el deseo de uno.
3.
El acuerdo es lo que nos lleva a una unidad; pero todo el mundo tira y jala.
4.
Yo tengo la sangre de Cristo y tú tienes la sangre de Cristo: es lo mismo, y ahí hay un acuerdo.
CC. El Espíritu Santo llega por medio de la sangre de Cristo.
1.
Cuando Jesús vino a nuestra vida nos limpió con su sangre.
2.
Nadie puede tener al Espíritu Santo si no tiene al Señor.
3.
El Espíritu Santo es para llevarnos, guiarnos, hacernos conocer y hacernos entender la Biblia.
4.
No puede haber ausencia de oración en el ministro, porque el pueblo depende de esa oración: que Dios nos favorezca y nos libre.
5.
Aprendan, hermanos, que el día se hace malo. No se acomoden a la tibieza: la tibieza no ayuda para nada.
III.No se puede caminar juntos si no hay armonía en propósito.
AA. Qué es la armonía.
1.
Es lo que ocurre cuando los que hemos sido salvos y lavados con la sangre de Cristo vivimos y servimos con un mismo sentir, guiados por el Espíritu Santo.
2.
Es acuerdo del alma con la voluntad de Dios y con los demás.
3.
Mirad cuán bueno y cuán delicioso es habitar los hermanos juntos en armonía, porque allí envía Jehová bendición.
4.
Hace falta sabiduría para convivir en unidad dentro de la diversidad, porque ese es el arte: todos somos distintos.
BB. Qué es el propósito.
1.
Es el plan perfecto de Dios para tu vida; Dios hizo un plan perfecto desde aquí hasta allá.
2.
Si lo cumplimos o no, es asunto nuestro; no es que Dios no haya hecho ni que el cielo no se mueva.
3.
Para cada uno Dios ha hecho propósitos: por qué va a existir y qué le va a tocar hacer en la tierra.
4.
A la tierra no venimos de lujo: a la tierra venimos a un servicio.
5.
Cuando los hijos de Dios se mueven en un mismo llamado, sin competir ni dividir, sino en amor, eso es armonía en propósito.
CC. El corazón rebelde se endurece.
1.
Mientras más se endurece el corazón, no hay quien lo ablande.
2.
Entonces tiene que venir un quebrantamiento violento de parte de Dios; y esos quebrantamientos vienen con el ay.
3.
¿Cómo vamos a estar juntos si cada cual piensa y tiene su propio mundo?
4.
Lo que imaginamos y preparamos nos hace caer en nuestras propias trampas.
5.
Tú puedes decir que en tu vida no se mete nadie, pero el problema es que Dios nos mueve todos los días.
IV.Amós lo aplica a la relación entre Dios y su pueblo.
AA. El pueblo decía ser del Señor, pero vivía en desobediencia.
1.
Por eso Dios no podía caminar junto con ellos: el problema es la desobediencia.
2.
En la vida espiritual no podemos decir que caminamos con Dios y vivir fuera de su voluntad.
3.
Cuando Dios nos llama, es para ponernos a hacer su voluntad.
4.
Y si decidimos hacer su voluntad, tu vida será mejor y serás feliz.
5.
Muchas son las aflicciones del justo, pero de todas ellas le librará Jehová; porque el que llama es el que nos toma de la mano.
BB. Los que sirven juntos deben estar en sintonía espiritual.
1.
Así es como Dios obra con poder: todos trabajamos para lo mismo.
2.
Estar en el cuerpo de Cristo nos somete a cada uno, porque Cristo es santo, santo, santo.
3.
Si lo violentamos, salimos del cuerpo, y entonces el cuerpo se siente afectado.
4.
Tener al Señor triste es horrible, y es peligroso para la iglesia en general.
5.
Los que sirven en la música tienen la obligación de vivir en esa unión con el Espíritu Santo, para que lo que se canta llegue al oído y del oído al corazón.
6.
Entonces, si veníamos con alguna situación, entramos en gozo, porque hemos sido liberados de lo que nos oprime.
CC. Dios quiere caminar con nosotros.
1.
Pero no puede hacerlo si nuestros corazones siguen otra dirección.
2.
Si uno toma otra dirección, ¿quién pierde? Uno; pero no se afecta uno solo, se afectan muchos.
3.
La comunión con Él no se basa solo en palabras ni en religión, sino en acuerdo y obediencia.
V.El servicio es lo que nos mantiene juntos.
AA. Levanten sus vidas al servicio.
1.
Dejemos de ser primera persona, segunda persona y tercera persona.
2.
Es haciéndole bien al otro donde llevamos mucho bienestar a ganar para el cielo.
3.
Cuando algún día tu termómetro demuestre que se puso colorado hasta el final, porque diste el servicio hasta gastarte.
4.
Hoy en día se vive muy presumido, y las conversaciones son a ver quién presume más.
5.
¿Qué es la vida en realidad? El servicio.
6.
Las abuelitas de antes eran felices porque hervían las habichuelas sin sofrito ni cebolla y ahí estaba la comida, para que los nietos vinieran y comieran.
BB. Caminar juntos implica ir al mismo paso.
1.
Hay mucho que criticar, todo; pero de lo que se trata es de hacer lo que a nosotros nos toca.
2.
Andarán dos juntos porque saben que tienen una unidad y armonía en propósito.
3.
Es ir en el mismo propósito y en el mismo rumbo, conforme al plan de Dios.
4.
Nunca podríamos andar dos con Dios si nos resistimos a su voluntad.
5.
Hay muchas puertas que se cierran en la vida, y las cierran los mortales; y dejamos de amar fácil, viviendo absolutamente para uno, día y noche.
VI.Dios no exige perfección, sino disposición.
AA. Cristo aguantó en mansedumbre.
1.
Aguantó que le destrozaran su bendito cuerpo, lo burlaron y le escupieron.
2.
Hoy en día, si alguien te hace algo, lo llevas a la corte y luchas hasta sacarle miles de dólares.
3.
Dios en ningún momento nos exige la perfección: lo que quiere de nuestra vida es disposición.
4.
Un corazón que diga: Señor, quiero ir a donde tú vas.
BB. Cuando el creyente y Dios están de acuerdo.
1.
Cuando te pones de acuerdo con Dios en pensamiento, en fe y en obediencia, el caminar se vuelve liviano, seguro y lleno de paz.
2.
Porque cuando uno hace lo que Dios quiere, hay mucha paz.
3.
Y cuando no lo hacemos, dentro de nuestro pecho hay un gemir, porque el alma está abatida.
4.
No se puede andar con Dios si el corazón va por otro camino: a la vanidad, a los reclamos, a la exigencia con que vivimos. Eso asfixia.
5.
Él no busca pasos perfectos, sino un alma que diga: contigo sigo.
CC. La paz que el mundo ha olvidado.
1.
Caminar con Dios es rendirse, dejar que Él marque el paso y hallar en su voluntad esa paz.
2.
El mundo ha olvidado la paz: la gente protesta por una cosa y por otra, y hay muchas guerras pronunciadas.
3.
El que está preocupado por algo actúa, porque esa preocupación lo lleva a una acción, y esa acción va a hacer un bien.
4.
La paz os dejo, mi paz os doy; yo no os la doy como el mundo la da.
5.
La paz que Dios nos deja no quiere decir que se resolvió el problema: es que Él nos da paz, porque la sangre de Cristo nos cubre.
6.
Cuando su querer y el nuestro se encuentran, la senda se alumbra, el peso se aligera y el alma aprende a ponerse de acuerdo: alma mía, espera en Dios, porque aún he de alabarle.
VII.Por Jehová son ordenados los pasos del hombre, y él aprueba su camino (Salmo 37:23).
AA. Dios guía cuidadosamente los pasos de quienes confían en Él.
1.
Hay cosas que te inquietan, cosas que no has hecho y cosas que mañana pretendes hacer: que sea Dios el que cuide tus pasos.
2.
No hay casualidades; hablo del que tiene una comunión y una oración con Dios.
3.
Cuando caminamos de su mano, cada paso, cada pausa y cada desvío tiene un propósito bajo su dirección.
BB. Y él aprueba su camino.
1.
Dios se agrada de la vida de aquel que busca andar conforme a su voluntad.
2.
Si tienes muchos problemas y muchas circunstancias, te aseguro que dejaste de orar y de buscar.
3.
Si un problema lleva tiempo y no se resuelve, es porque no lo has enfrentado y no has establecido la verdad.
4.
Todo es hasta donde tú permites. Sean guerreros, aprendan a batallar.
5.
Sacrifica un poquito la boca un día en la semana: no en penitencia ni en azotes, sino leyendo la palabra y orando, sabiendo que te estás absteniendo.
6.
Seamos útiles en esta tierra; ya casi ni iglesias hay, se han cerrado. Nosotros hemos luchado siempre como iglesia, aun cuando en la pandemia el culto hubo que darlo por teléfono.
CC. Dios sostiene el caminar.
1.
Los tropiezos van a venir, y siempre alguien te va a meter el pie; pero todo depende de ti.
2.
Sea el familiar, sea el hermano, sea el cónyuge: quien quiera poner el tropiezo que lo ponga, porque Dios levanta al justo y endereza sus pasos.
3.
Caminar con Dios es saber que no hay pérdida cuando se sigue su dirección; las pérdidas son por falta de acción, y lo sagrado lo multiplica Dios.
4.
Al que se deleita en Dios, Dios le guía cada paso, aun cuando el suelo esté temblando.
5.
Donde el hombre ve tropiezo, nuestro Dios ve enseñanza y siembra; el justo no camina solo, y si cae, la mano divina lo levanta con gran paciencia.
DD. Jehová renueva las fuerzas.
1.
Aquí en la tierra nos vamos gastando, y mientras nos gastamos perdemos fuerza.
2.
Pero Él renueva las fuerzas del que en Él confía, del que tiene fe, del que está activo para hacer.
3.
Si te levantas y haces lo que Dios quiere, verás un milagro y otro milagro, y va aumentando nuestra fe; y la fe tiene una acción.
4.
Es más fácil el lamento y la queja; pero a Dios le mueve la mano la fe del justo, no la duda ni el querer ser la víctima.
5.
Él dirige, Él sostiene, Él prueba; y cuando prueba es como si dijera: quédate quieta, descansa en mí.
6.
Cada nuevo día trae la esperanza de que Jehová está con nosotros y de que no ha visto un justo desamparado.
VIII.Enséñame, oh Jehová, tu camino, y guíame por senda de rectitud (Salmo 27:11).
AA. David escribe en tiempo de peligro y persecución.
1.
En lugar de confiar en su fuerza o en sus estrategias, le pide a Dios dirección y sabiduría.
2.
Eso es lo que hay que hacer cuando estamos en tantas dificultades: pedirle a Dios dirección y sabiduría.
3.
El salmista reconoce que solo el Señor puede mostrarle el camino correcto y mantenerlo firme en medio de tanta oposición.
4.
David tenía una comunión con Dios perfecta y hermosa; él era el hombre que tenía que levantar el templo y el pueblo, unir, batallar y sacar a los enemigos.
5.
Es una súplica de humildad: vaya a Dios en humildad y reconozca que no lo sabemos todo.
BB. Guíame por senda de rectitud.
1.
Aprenda esa palabra, iglesia: rectitud.
2.
Usted piensa que la rectitud es solo para cierto momento; la rectitud es veinticuatro horas.
3.
Todos los actos que no son en rectitud están escritos en los libros, y no hay paso para atrás.
4.
David pide no solo conocer el camino, sino andar en él con rectitud y justicia.
5.
La ausencia de rectitud es ausencia de moral, y la ausencia de moral corrompe a toda la familia.
CC. A causa de mis enemigos.
1.
Porque sabía que el mal siempre acecha y que solo la obediencia a Dios protege y fortalece.
2.
Enséñame, Señor, tu senda cuando mi paso dude o tropiece.
3.
Que no me guíe el miedo ni el ruido, sino tu voz firme y tierna.
4.
Por la vereda que marca tu luz camino en paz, sin retroceder; tu dirección me da descanso y en tu senda hallo bien.
IX.Esta copa es el nuevo pacto en mi sangre, que por vosotros se derrama (Lucas 22:20).
AA. Hacemos memoria de un amor sin igual.
1.
Este es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado; haced esto en memoria de mí.
2.
Si Él no hubiese hecho este sacrificio, no tendrías ninguna seguridad de vida eterna.
3.
Dios nos revela la palabra para que la conozcamos; un pueblo en Dios tiene mucho bien, y hay que saber aprovecharlo.
BB. Cuando el corazón se endurece, se rompe el pacto.
1.
Sabemos que se ha roto el pacto que hicimos el día en que nos convertimos.
2.
Que el pueblo tome conciencia de lo que es fallarle a Él, de lo que es llevarlo de nuevo a la cruz, de endurecer el corazón, de ser vanidoso y orgulloso.
3.
Pero si somos su cuerpo, Él es el soberano que puede ejecutar la orden del cielo, para que en su palabra y en la súplica haya espacio para el perdón.
4.
Que caiga el amor reverente sobre la vida de los hermanos, para que le amen en pureza y le sean fieles.

Can Two Walk Together?
Amos 3:3
Introduction
Amos uses a question to teach a spiritual principle: true unity requires agreement. Today no one walks with anyone, because we cannot even agree on a colour; the way we speak, the way we think and the things we do are always subject to the self, and all the more in these times when the thinking is "no one tells me what to do." But if we are the body of Christ, we all have to learn the same thing. We cannot walk together if there is no harmony of purpose, and we cannot walk with God if the heart is going another way.
I.Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3).
AA. The prophet reasons from nature.
1.
Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? Will a young lion cry out of his den?
2.
These are things proper to nature, which must have a reason in order to show themselves.
3.
Today no one walks with anyone, and that is the reason: we cannot even agree on a colour.
BB. For sheep to function they need a shepherd to lead them.
1.
God leaves us the word so that we may be knowing people; it is what educates and teaches us.
2.
Each one has his own book written and develops his own thinking as he likes.
3.
I have never found one sheep like another, nor have you found a sheep that resembles you.
CC. Everything in us is subject to the self.
1.
What we speak, what we say, what we think and what we do are always subject to the self.
2.
All the more in these times of so much liberty, when the thinking is: no one tells me what to do.
3.
Today it is easier for everyone to have his opinion and say what he pleases, because let no one meddle in my life.
4.
This message by itself brings no improvement in the human being: what we gain in the Scriptures is knowledge for those of us who want to be spiritual.
II.True unity requires agreement.
AA. Unity has a code.
1.
Whether friend, companion, family, brother, father, mother or cousin, to have unity one must come to agreements.
2.
And we do not like coming to agreements.
3.
If we are the body of Christ, we must know that we all have to learn the same thing.
4.
If you say you do whatever you please, then you are not the body.
BB. When we are united, what happens to the other grieves us.
1.
When we love one another, it hurts us if something befalls another and we rejoice when it goes well with him.
2.
The last thing you want is to harm the person, because that is not one's desire.
3.
Agreement is what brings us to unity; but everyone pulls his own way.
4.
I have the blood of Christ and you have the blood of Christ: it is the same, and there is the agreement.
CC. The Holy Spirit comes by the blood of Christ.
1.
When Jesus came into our life He cleansed us with His blood.
2.
No one can have the Holy Spirit who does not have the Lord.
3.
The Holy Spirit is to carry us, guide us, make us know and make us understand the Bible.
4.
There can be no absence of prayer in the minister, for the people depend on that prayer: that God favour us and deliver us.
5.
Learn, brethren, that the evil day comes. Do not settle into lukewarmness: lukewarmness helps nothing.
III.We cannot walk together if there is no harmony of purpose.
AA. What harmony is.
1.
It is what happens when those who have been saved and washed in the blood of Christ live and serve with one mind, led by the Holy Spirit.
2.
It is the agreement of the soul with the will of God and with others.
3.
Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity, for there the LORD commanded the blessing.
4.
Wisdom is needed to live in unity within diversity, for that is the art: we are all different.
BB. What purpose is.
1.
It is the perfect plan of God for your life; God made a perfect plan from here to there.
2.
Whether we fulfil it or not is our own affair; it is not that God has not acted, nor that heaven does not move.
3.
For each one God has made purposes: why he will exist and what he will have to do on the earth.
4.
We do not come to the earth for luxury: we come to the earth for service.
5.
When the children of God move in one calling, without competing or dividing, but in love, that is harmony of purpose.
CC. The rebellious heart hardens.
1.
The more the heart hardens, the less anyone can soften it.
2.
Then a violent breaking must come from God; and those breakings come with the woe.
3.
How shall we be together if each one thinks and has his own world?
4.
What we imagine and prepare makes us fall into our own traps.
5.
You may say no one meddles in your life, but the trouble is that God moves us every day.
IV.Amos applies it to the relationship between God and His people.
AA. The people claimed to be the Lord's, but lived in disobedience.
1.
That is why God could not walk together with them: the problem is disobedience.
2.
In the spiritual life we cannot say we walk with God and live outside His will.
3.
When God calls us, it is to set us to do His will.
4.
And if we decide to do His will, your life will be better and you will be happy.
5.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivereth him out of them all; for He who calls is He who takes us by the hand.
BB. Those who serve together must be in spiritual tune.
1.
That is how God works with power: we all work for the same thing.
2.
Being in the body of Christ subjects each one of us, for Christ is holy, holy, holy.
3.
If we do violence to it, we go out of the body, and then the body is affected.
4.
To have the Lord grieved is a terrible thing, and it is dangerous for the whole church.
5.
Those who serve in music are obliged to live in that union with the Holy Spirit, so that what is sung reaches the ear and from the ear the heart.
6.
Then, if we came in with some trouble, we enter into joy, because we have been freed from what oppresses us.
CC. God desires to walk with us.
1.
But He cannot do it if our hearts follow another direction.
2.
If one takes another direction, who loses? Oneself; but it is not oneself alone who is affected, many are.
3.
Communion with Him rests not on words nor on religion, but on agreement and obedience.
V.Service is what keeps us together.
AA. Lift your lives to service.
1.
Let us stop being first person, second person and third person.
2.
It is in doing good to another that we gain much for heaven.
3.
Until one day your gauge shows red to the very end, because you gave service until you were spent.
4.
Today people live very boastfully, and conversation is about who can boast the most.
5.
What is life in truth? Service.
6.
The grandmothers of old were happy because they boiled the beans without sofrito and without onion, and there was the meal, so the grandchildren would come and eat.
BB. To walk together is to go at the same pace.
1.
There is much to criticize, everything; but the point is to do what falls to us.
2.
Two shall walk together because they know they have unity and harmony of purpose.
3.
It is to go in the same purpose and the same course, according to the plan of God.
4.
We could never walk as two with God if we resist His will.
5.
Many doors close in life, and mortals close them; and we easily stop loving, living wholly for ourselves, day and night.
VI.God does not demand perfection, but willingness.
AA. Christ endured in meekness.
1.
He bore the destruction of His blessed body; they mocked Him and they spat on Him.
2.
Today, if someone wrongs you, you take him to court and fight until thousands of dollars are taken from him.
3.
God at no moment demands perfection of us: what He wants of our life is willingness.
4.
A heart that says: Lord, I want to go where you go.
BB. When the believer and God are agreed.
1.
When you agree with God in thought, in faith and in obedience, the walk becomes light, safe and full of peace.
2.
For when one does what God wants, there is much peace.
3.
And when we do not, within our breast there is a groaning, because the soul is cast down.
4.
One cannot walk with God if the heart goes another way: to vanity, to complaints, to the demands with which we live. That suffocates.
5.
He does not look for perfect steps, but for a soul that says: with you I go on.
CC. The peace the world has forgotten.
1.
To walk with God is to surrender, to let Him set the pace, and to find that peace in His will.
2.
The world has forgotten peace: people protest over one thing and another, and many wars are declared.
3.
Whoever is truly concerned about something acts, because that concern leads him to an action, and that action will do good.
4.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
5.
The peace God leaves does not mean the problem is solved: it is that He gives us peace, because the blood of Christ covers us.
6.
When His will and ours meet, the path is lit, the weight is lightened and the soul learns to agree: my soul, wait thou upon God, for I shall yet praise Him.
VII.The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way (Psalm 37:23).
AA. God carefully guides the steps of those who trust Him.
1.
There are things that unsettle you, things you have not done and things you intend to do tomorrow: let God be the one who keeps your steps.
2.
There are no coincidences; I speak of the one who has communion and prayer with God.
3.
When we walk by His hand, every step, every pause and every turn has a purpose under His direction.
BB. And he delighteth in his way.
1.
God takes pleasure in the life of the one who seeks to walk according to His will.
2.
If you have many troubles and many circumstances, I assure you that you stopped praying and stopped seeking.
3.
If a problem drags on and is not resolved, it is because you have not faced it and have not established the truth.
4.
Everything goes as far as you permit. Be warriors, learn to do battle.
5.
Sacrifice the mouth a little one day in the week: not in penance nor in scourging, but reading the word and praying, knowing you are abstaining.
6.
Let us be useful on this earth; there are hardly any churches left, they have closed. We have always fought as a church, even when in the pandemic the service had to be given by telephone.
CC. God sustains the walk.
1.
Stumblings will come, and someone will always trip you; but it all depends on you.
2.
Be it the relative, the brother, the spouse: let whoever will lay the stumbling block lay it, for God raises the righteous and straightens his steps.
3.
To walk with God is to know there is no loss when His direction is followed; losses come from want of action, and what is sacred God multiplies.
4.
The one who delights in God is guided by God at every step, even when the ground is shaking.
5.
Where man sees a stumbling, our God sees teaching and sowing; the righteous does not walk alone, and if he falls, the divine hand lifts him with great patience.
DD. The LORD renews strength.
1.
Here on earth we are being spent, and as we are spent we lose strength.
2.
But He renews the strength of the one who trusts in Him, who has faith, who is active to act.
3.
If you rise and do what God wants, you will see one miracle and another, and our faith increases; and faith has an action.

Lament and complaint are easier; but what moves God's hand is the faith of the righteous, not doubt nor the wish to be the victim.

AA. David writes in a time of danger and persecution.

Instead of trusting in his own strength or his strategies, he asks God for direction and wisdom.

That is what must be done when we are in such difficulties: ask God for direction and wisdom.

The psalmist acknowledges that only the Lord can show him the right way and keep him firm amid so much opposition.

David had a perfect and beautiful communion with God; he was the man who had to raise up the temple and the people, to unite, to battle and to drive out the enemies.

It is a plea of humility: go to God in humility, and acknowledge that we do not know it all.
BB. Lead me in a plain path.
1.
Learn that word, church: uprightness.
2.
You think uprightness is only for a certain moment; uprightness is twenty-four hours.
3.
Every act that is not in uprightness is written in the books, and there is no step backward.
4.
David asks not only to know the way, but to walk in it with uprightness and justice.
5.
The absence of uprightness is the absence of morals, and the absence of morals corrupts the whole family.

But if we are His body, He is the sovereign who can carry out the order of heaven, so that in His word and in supplication there is room for forgiveness.

May a reverent love fall upon the life of the brethren, so that they love Him in purity and are faithful to Him.

“¿Andarán dos juntos, si no estuvieren de acuerdo?”
Reina-Valera 1960
Amós pregunta para enseñar un principio: la verdadera unidad requiere acuerdos. Hoy nadie anda con nadie, porque no se está de acuerdo ni en un color, y el pensamiento de estos tiempos es «a mí no me manda nadie». Estos son los puntos del domingo, para llevarlos toda la semana.
Para tener unidad hay un código: llegar a acuerdos, y no nos gusta. Si somos el cuerpo de Cristo, todos tenemos que aprender lo mismo; si haces lo que quieras, no eres el cuerpo, punto.
Yo tengo la sangre de Cristo y tú tienes la sangre de Cristo: es lo mismo, y ahí hay un acuerdo. Cuando somos unidos nos duele lo del otro y nos alegramos cuando le va bien.
No se puede caminar juntos sin armonía en propósito: armonía es acuerdo del alma con la voluntad de Dios y con los demás; propósito, el plan perfecto de Dios para tu vida. Venimos a la tierra a un servicio.
El pueblo decía ser del Señor, pero vivía en desobediencia; por eso Dios no podía caminar con ellos. No podemos decir que caminamos con Dios y vivir fuera de su voluntad: la comunión es acuerdo y obediencia.
¿Qué es la vida en realidad? El servicio. Las abuelitas de antes eran felices porque hervían las habichuelas sin sofrito ni cebolla, y ahí estaba la comida para los nietos. Dejemos de ser primera persona.
Dios no exige perfección, sino disposición: un corazón que diga «Señor, quiero ir a donde tú vas». Cuando te pones de acuerdo con Dios en fe y obediencia, el caminar se vuelve liviano y lleno de paz.
Los tropiezos van a venir, y siempre alguien te va a meter el pie, pero Dios levanta al justo. A Dios le mueve la mano la fe del justo, no el lamento ni la queja.

Sacrifica un poquito la boca un día en la semana: no en penitencia, sino leyendo la palabra y orando, sabiendo que te estás absteniendo.

Así lo dice la Biblia. En palabras sencillas: dos no pueden caminar juntos si no se ponen de acuerdo. La pastora dijo que hoy nadie anda con nadie porque no se ponen de acuerdo ni en un color: uno dice anaranjado y el otro dice rojizo.
1Un león no ruge en la selva si no hay presa. Todo tiene una razón. Si dos no van al mismo lugar, no pueden caminar juntos.
2Para estar unidos hay que ponerse de acuerdo, y eso no nos gusta. Si dices «yo hago lo que yo quiera», no estás caminando con nadie.
3Cuando somos unidos, nos duele si a un hermano le pasa algo y nos alegramos cuando le va bien. Eso pasa en la iglesia y en tu casa.
4Israel decía que era de Dios, pero no le obedecía, y por eso Dios no podía caminar con ellos. No digas que vas con Dios y hagas lo contrario.
5Las abuelitas de antes hervían habichuelas sin sofrito ni cebolla, y eran felices, porque la comida era para que los nietos comieran. Vivir es servir a otros.
6Dios no te pide que seas perfecto; te pide que quieras ir a donde Él va. Cuando haces lo que Dios quiere hay paz por dentro; cuando no, el pecho gime.
