“Este es el día que hizo Jehová; nos gozaremos y alegraremos en él.”
El estudio nace de una frase que la pastora dice haber escrito días antes: “mi presente soy”. De ahí sale todo. Nosotros pensamos que tenemos millones de días en la tierra, y no los tenemos: son contados, y cada uno es un regalo que a Dios le place dar. Lo que no se cumplió hoy, la acción que debíamos tener hoy, el propósito que Dios tenía para hoy: si no se cumple, no fuimos agradecidos del día que se nos regaló. Y los días se desperdician en la queja, en el lamento, en el mal carácter. El estudio recorre después la doctrina de la prueba: las pruebas no son castigo sino formación, y educan como educa la clase al estudiante que atiende; producen paciencia, y la paciencia prueba, y la prueba esperanza. Pasa por los cuarenta años del desierto, que eran para saber lo que había en el corazón, y por el “después que hayáis padecido” de 1 Pedro 5:10. Y llega al centro práctico: no afanarse por el mañana, porque la ansiedad mata el presente, y el presente que no se vive tampoco ayudará al futuro. Cierra con el “he aquí ahora” de 2 Corintios 6:2 y con la siembra que no desmaya de Gálatas 6:9-10.
I.Cuando Dios escoge, hace cosas fuertes.
AA. Lo triste es que lo que se llama iglesia se acostumbra a lo común y a lo ordinario.
1.
No entramos a las profundidades de lo que tenemos que vivir y conocer.
2.
No se trata de ser unos más, sino de ser escogidos dispuestos a guerrear.
3.
Yo no puedo quedarme con lo que aprendí ayer: mi vida va creciendo.
4.
No porque duela, sino porque es conocer más a Dios mientras más pasa el tiempo.
BB. Llega el momento en que uno se tiene que canalizar donde ya debe estar.
1.
No puedo ser tibia ni fría, ni vivir por lo que pienso o pretendo.
2.
El cuerpo natural no está acostumbrado a desarrollar una vida en el espíritu.
3.
A la iglesia no vienes porque quieran mimarte: vienes a ser hombre o mujer espiritual.
4.
El proceso de crecimiento será dolor, pero con consuelo: toda vida pasa por el dolor.
II.Cada día es un regalo.
AA. Tú haces planes para el futuro; yo vivo el presente, el momento.
1.
Lo que no logramos hoy, el propósito que Dios tenía para hoy: si no se cumple, no fuimos agradecidos.
2.
¿Crees que tienes vida porque estás en la tierra? Cada día es un regalo que a Dios le place dar.
3.
No tenemos millones de días: son contados, y los ángeles los cuentan.
4.
Ven cómo agradecemos el día que Dios nos regala.
BB. “Mi presente soy.”
1.
Este día está marcado en el cielo por Dios.
2.
Como se pierden los días, no hay siembra; sin siembra no hay cosecha ni fruto.
3.
Y sin fruto, las manos están vacías: se pierde la vida con las manos vacías.
4.
Se desperdician en la queja, en el lamento, en el mal carácter.
CC. No importa si el día trae pruebas o alegría.
1.
Sigue siendo una oportunidad para ver la bondad y la fidelidad de Dios.
2.
La vida no está a los pies de nadie: está en la mano de Dios, que dio el aliento.
3.
Si él ha sido fiel, ¿por qué no serle fiel a él?
III.Tened por sumo gozo (Santiago 1:2-4).
AA. La vida no es una tontería, y el ochenta por ciento de lo que se habla lo es.
1.
No tenemos el ánimo de tener en la boca la verdad de Jesucristo.
2.
Tenemos en la boca los deseos, lo que pretendemos, lo que nos molesta.
BB. María sabía que cada día que Jesús pasaba en la tierra era un día permitido por Dios.
1.
Cuando lo matan, va corriendo al sepulcro: ese día Dios se lo regalaba a ella.
2.
Y ahí le volvió el gozo, porque ya había resucitado.
3.
Se da por hecho el pecado, porque eso es disfrute para el ser humano.
4.
Los discípulos estaban escondidos y asustados; ella no conocía el susto.
CC. Las pruebas no son castigos: son una formación.
1.
Búscate en tus espaldas, y no tienes ni un azote.
2.
Las pruebas te educan: aguántalas, no huyas como cobarde.
3.
El estudiante estrella es el que se educa de lo que aprende.
4.
No son para destruirnos, sino para fortalecer nuestra fe.
IV.La tribulación produce paciencia (Romanos 5:3-5).
AA. Y la paciencia, prueba; y la prueba, esperanza.
1.
Vamos educando nuestro carácter, nuestros impulsos, lo que opinamos.
2.
¿Y sabe lo que va a pasar? Nos vamos a quedar quietos.
3.
Necesitamos ser pulidos, porque tenemos un alto pensamiento de nosotros mismos.
BB. Las pruebas son el proceso donde Dios forma el carácter cristiano.
1.
Como no las queremos, nos defendemos y le echamos la culpa a alguien.
2.
Hemos aprendido un carácter: hablamos las palabras de mami, de papi, del vecino.
3.
Pero Dios le hace a cada uno un carácter distinto, y brega de uno en uno.
4.
No tiene empeño de hacerlo delante de la multitud para que la multitud lo vea.
CC. Sin prueba no hay madurez ni fe firme.
1.
Si con las pruebas solo te molestas y te quejas, no desarrollarás madurez.
2.
Llevar un coraje y cargarlo todos los días: ya no hay risa, ya no hay paz.
3.
Pedro, Juan y Pablo tuvieron que aprender el carácter de Cristo.
4.
A Pedro le quedó el rostro del Maestro, y nunca se le olvidó.
DD. A Pablo, Dios le dio días de regalo para formarlo.
1.
El día que le tenía era el día en que lo iban a decapitar, teniéndolo todo.
2.
Pedro pidió que lo crucificaran hacia abajo, no igual que el Maestro.
3.
Tú lo mides como cruel; pero era un regalo, porque Pedro lo había negado.
4.
Y Juan vivió muchos años, porque siguió apasionado detrás de Jesús.
V.Para saber lo que había en tu corazón (Deuteronomio 8:2).
AA. ¿Para qué fue Israel por el desierto? Para saber: para que uno sepa lo que hay en uno.
1.
De Egipto a Israel el camino era corto; pero comenzaron a desafiar.
2.
Cada vuelta era para que supieran lo que había dentro de ellos.
3.
Para provocarles arrepentimiento y que entendiesen que Dios quería hacerlos su pueblo.
4.
Pero se rebelaban, y querían destruir a Moisés.
BB. Solo los de veinte años hacia abajo llegaron a la tierra prometida.
1.
Todos los demás perecieron, porque no pudieron con la prueba.
2.
Los cuarenta años eran para que hubiese arrepentimiento.
3.
Pero la prueba también se puede tomar para endurecer el corazón.
4.
Cuando le presentamos toda nuestra maldad, él nos perdona y nos levanta.
VI.Después que hayáis padecido (1 Pedro 5:10).
AA. Miren cómo dice: “después”.
1.
Estamos en ese proceso en que tenemos que padecer, cada uno por su ser interior.
2.
La gracia es un favor inmerecido, una bondad gratuita: se recibe.
3.
Es un regalo del corazón de Dios: nos dio la salvación y nos perdonó el pecado.
BB. Dios tiene en la gracia muchos regalos.
1.
Yo no quiero que mi vida se seque: ¿qué tiene la tierra que nos vaya a dar algún regalo?
2.
Dios regala días hermosos para ver sus milagros, su poder y su gloria.
3.
Que tengamos cánticos nuevos y un hablar completamente diferente.
4.
Podemos salir por esa puerta igual, o podemos salir distintos.
CC. “Tenga la paciencia su obra completa”: no rendirse a mitad del proceso.
1.
Cuando la paciencia madura, Dios perfecciona nuestra fe y nuestro carácter.
2.
Ser cabales es tener valores de comportamiento que te distinguen.
3.
¿Qué piensa la gente de ti? ¿Qué piensan en tu casa de ti?
4.
El rostro se transforma, y aun los movimientos corporales: brota lo de Dios.
VII.No os afanéis por el día de mañana (Mateo 6:34).
AA. Si hay algo que debe inquietarte es tu presente: el hoy, la hora, el minuto.
1.
Y ese afán no es afán: es la voluntad de Dios que sabe llevarnos a la perfección.
2.
Muchas cosas se les han hecho importantes, y su presente lo han anulado.
3.
Si no llevas a tus hijos al presente, los vas a arrastrar a lo tuyo; y lo tuyo será tu dolor.
4.
Las pruebas no nos debilitan: nos complementan en las manos del Señor.
BB. “Basta a cada día su propio mal.”
1.
Si el hoy no lo puedes cumplir, ¿crees que lo que esperas se va a cumplir?
2.
Salgamos del dolor del pasado para manifestarnos en el presente.
3.
Yo no puedo tener el dolor de la semana pasada: yo vivo mi presente.
4.
“He sufrido mucho”: ¿y qué le sacaste? El lamento y la queja.
CC. Jesús enseña a confiar en la provisión y a no vivir dominados por la ansiedad.
1.
La ansiedad es el temor anticipado: el corazón cargado por lo incierto.
2.
Esa ansiedad nos hace morir el presente; y ese presente no ayudará al futuro.
3.
La preocupación por el futuro roba la paz que Dios quiere darnos hoy.
4.
Cada día trae su reto, y Dios da gracia para afrontarlos de uno en uno.
DD. No carguemos hoy con el problema que todavía no existe.
1.
“Mi hijo va para esta universidad, mi hijo va a hacer esto”: eso es dañino.
2.
¿Y crees que entonces uno es capaz de oír la voz de Dios?
3.
Jesús no niega la dificultad: enseña que Dios provee fortaleza diaria.
4.
La fe se vive día por día: en bloque pesa, día por día es liviana.
VIII.He aquí ahora el tiempo aceptable (2 Corintios 6:2).
AA. Pablo cita Isaías 49:8: Dios promete escuchar y ayudar en el momento oportuno.
1.
El tiempo aceptable es el momento en que Dios abre la puerta de su misericordia.
2.
Pablo enfatiza que ese momento no es futuro: es ahora.
3.
El llamado de Dios no es para algún día, sino para hoy.
4.
Porque nadie tiene asegurado el mañana: la vida es el día, el momento.
BB. Cada día en que escuchamos su voz es una oportunidad divina para ser transformados.
1.
No debemos aplazar la fe, ni el arrepentimiento, ni la obediencia.
2.
Dios siempre está listo para recibir, perdonar y restaurar.
IX.No nos cansemos de hacer el bien (Gálatas 6:9-10).
AA. Aunque no siempre se vean resultados inmediatos.
1.
Servir, ayudar o perdonar puede cansar; pero Dios ve todo lo que hacemos con amor.
2.
Aunque nadie lo reconozca, el Señor recompensa en su tiempo.
3.
Segar es cortar el trigo para recoger la cosecha.
4.
“Si no desmayamos”: porque el problema es que nos damos por vencidos.
BB. Toda siembra tiene su cosecha: es la ley de la siembra y la cosecha.
1.
A veces Dios no paga al instante, pero nunca se olvida de los que perseveran.
2.
“Su tiempo” significa el tiempo perfecto de Dios, no el nuestro.
3.
El bien cristiano es para todos, sin distinción.
4.
Y hay un llamado especial a cuidar y apoyar a nuestra familia espiritual.

Every Day God Gives Us Is A Gift
Psalm 118:24
Introduction
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
The study is born of a phrase the pastor says she wrote down days earlier: “my present is what I am.” Everything follows from it. We think we have millions of days on the earth, and we do not: they are numbered, and each one is a gift God is pleased to give. What was not fulfilled today, the deed we should have done today, the purpose God had for today: if it goes unfulfilled, we were not grateful for the day given us. And the days are squandered in complaint, in lament, in bad temper. The study then walks through the doctrine of trial: trials are not punishment but formation, and they teach the way a class teaches the student who pays attention; they work patience, and patience experience, and experience hope. It passes through the forty years in the desert, which were to know what was in the heart, and through the “after that ye have suffered a while” of 1 Peter 5:10. And it reaches the practical center: take no thought for tomorrow, because anxiety kills the present, and a present not lived will not help the future either. It closes with the “now is” of 2 Corinthians 6:2 and with the sowing that does not faint in Galatians 6:9-10.
I.When God chooses, He does strong things.
AA. The sad thing is that what is called church settles for the common and the ordinary.
1.
We do not go into the depths of what we must live and know.
2.
It is not about being one more, but about being the chosen who are willing to war.
3.
I cannot stay with what I learned yesterday: my life keeps growing.
4.
Not because it hurts, but because it is knowing God more as time passes.
BB. A moment comes when one must settle where one ought already to be.
1.
I cannot be lukewarm nor cold, nor live by what I think or claim.
2.
The natural body is not accustomed to developing a life in the spirit.
3.
You do not come to church to be coddled: you come to be a spiritual man or woman.
4.
The process of growth will be pain, but with comfort: every life passes through pain.
II.Every day is a gift.
AA. You make plans for the future; I live the present, the moment.
1.
What we did not achieve today, the purpose God had for today: unfulfilled, we were ungrateful.
2.
Do you think you have life because you are on the earth? Each day is a gift God is pleased to give.
3.
We do not have millions of days: they are numbered, and the angels count them.
4.
They see how we thank Him for the day He gives us.
BB. “My present is what I am.”
1.
This day is marked in heaven by God.
2.
As the days are lost, there is no sowing; without sowing there is no harvest nor fruit.
3.
And without fruit the hands are empty: life is lost with empty hands.
4.
They are squandered in complaint, in lament, in bad temper.
CC. It does not matter whether the day brings trials or gladness.
1.
It is still an opportunity to see the goodness and faithfulness of God.
2.
Life is at no one’s feet: it is in God’s hand, who gave the breath.
3.
If He has been faithful, why not be faithful to Him?
III.Count it all joy (James 1:2-4).
AA. Life is no trifle, and eighty percent of what is spoken is.
1.
We have not the will to carry the truth of Jesus Christ in our mouth.
2.
We carry our desires, our pretensions, what annoys us, what troubles us.
BB. Mary knew that every day Jesus spent on earth was a day God permitted.
1.
When they kill Him, she runs to the tomb: God was giving her that day.
2.
And there the joy of her life returned, because He had already risen.
3.
Sin is taken for granted, because that is a delight to the human being.
4.
The disciples were hidden and afraid; she did not know fear.
CC. Trials are not punishments: they are formation.
1.
Look at your own back, and there is not one stripe on it.
2.
Trials educate you: bear them, do not flee like a coward.
3.
The star student is the one who is taught by what he learns.
4.
They are not to destroy us, but to strengthen our faith.
IV.Tribulation worketh patience (Romans 5:3-5).
AA. And patience, experience; and experience, hope.
1.
We are schooling our character, our impulses, our opinions.
2.
And do you know what will happen? We will be still.
3.
We need polishing, because we think too highly of ourselves.
BB. Trials are the process by which God forms Christian character.
1.
Since we do not want them, we defend ourselves and blame someone.
2.
We learned a character: we speak the words of mother, of father, of the neighbor.
3.
But God makes a different character in each one, and deals one by one.
4.
He has no interest in doing it before the crowd so the crowd may see.
CC. Without trial there is no maturity nor firm faith.
1.
If in trials you only fret and complain, you will not develop maturity.
2.
To carry anger and bear it every day: then there is no laughter, no peace.
3.
Peter, John and Paul had to learn the character of Christ.
4.
Peter was left with the face of the Master, and he never forgot it.
DD. To Paul, God gave days as a gift, to form him.
1.
The day He had for him was the day they would behead him, having everything.
2.
Peter asked to be crucified head down, not as the Master was.
3.
You measure it as cruel; but it was a gift, because Peter had denied Him.
4.
And John lived many years, because he stayed passionate after Jesus.
V.To know what was in thine heart (Deuteronomy 8:2).
AA. Why did Israel go through the desert? To know: that one may know what is in oneself.
1.
From Egypt to Israel the road was short; but they began to defy.
2.
Every circuit was so they would know what was inside them.
3.
To bring them to repentance, that they might understand God wanted them as His people.
4.
But they rebelled, and wanted to destroy Moses.
BB. Only those twenty and under reached the promised land.
1.
All the rest perished, because they could not bear the trial.
2.
The forty years were so that there might be repentance.
3.
But a trial can also be taken so as to harden the heart.
4.
When we bring Him all our wickedness, He forgives us and raises us up.
VI.After that ye have suffered a while (1 Peter 5:10).
AA. See how it says: “after.”
1.
We are in that process of suffering, each one for his inner being.
2.
Grace is undeserved favor, free kindness: it is received.
3.
It is a gift from God’s heart: He gave salvation and forgave all our sin.
BB. God has many gifts in His grace.
1.
I do not want my life to dry up: what does the earth have to give us as a gift?
2.
God gives beautiful days to see His miracles, His power and His glory.
3.
May we have new songs in our mouths and a wholly different speech.
4.
We can go out that door the same, or we can go out changed.
CC. “Let patience have her perfect work”: do not give up halfway.
1.
When patience matures, God perfects our faith and our character.
2.
To be entire is to have traits of conduct that mark you out.
3.
What do people think of you? What do they think of you at home?
4.
The face is transformed, and even the bearing: what is of God comes out.
VII.Take no thought for the morrow (Matthew 6:34).
AA. If anything should concern you, it is your present: today, the hour, the minute.
1.
And that care is no anxiety: it is God’s will, which knows how to bring us to perfection.
2.
Many things have become important to you, and your present has been annulled.
3.
If you do not bring your children to the present, you drag them into yours; and yours will be your pain.
4.
Trials do not weaken us: they complete us in the Lord’s hands.
BB. “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
1.
If you cannot fulfill today, do you think what you await will be fulfilled?
2.
Let us come out of the pain of the past to appear in the present.
3.
I cannot hold last week’s pain: I live my present.
4.
“I have suffered much”: and what did you get from it? Lament and complaint.
CC. Jesus teaches trust in provision and not to be ruled by anxiety.
1.
Anxiety is anticipated dread: the heart burdened by the uncertain.
2.
That anxiety kills our present; and that present will not help the future.
3.
Worry over the future robs the peace God wants to give us today.
4.
Each day brings its challenge, and God gives grace to face them one at a time.
DD. Let us not carry today the problem that does not yet exist.
1.
“My son is going to this university, my son will do this”: that is harmful.
2.
And do you think one is then able to hear the voice of God?
3.
Jesus does not deny difficulty: He teaches that God provides daily strength.
4.
Faith is lived day by day: in a block it is heavy, day by day it is light.
VIII.Now is the accepted time (2 Corinthians 6:2).
AA. Paul cites Isaiah 49:8: God promises to hear and help in the opportune moment.
1.
The accepted time is the moment God opens the door of His mercy.
2.
Paul stresses that this moment is not future: it is now.
3.
God’s call is not for some day, but for today.
4.
Because no one is assured of tomorrow: life is the day, the moment.
BB. Each day we hear His voice is a divine opportunity to be transformed.
1.
We must not postpone faith, nor repentance, nor obedience.
2.
God is always ready to receive, forgive and restore.
IX.Let us not be weary in well doing (Galatians 6:9-10).
AA. Even when results are not immediately seen.
1.
To serve, to help or to forgive can tire; but God sees all we do with love.
2.
Though no one acknowledges it, the Lord rewards in His time.
3.
To reap is to cut the wheat and gather the harvest.
4.
“If we faint not”: because the trouble is that we give up.
BB. Every sowing has its harvest: it is the law of sowing and reaping.
1.
Sometimes God does not pay at once, but never forgets those who persevere.
2.
“In due season” means God’s perfect time, not ours.
3.
Christian good is for all, without distinction.
4.
And there is a special call to care for and support our spiritual family.

Lo que se llama iglesia se acostumbra a lo común y lo ordinario. No se trata de ser unos más, sino escogidos dispuestos a guerrear; a la iglesia no vienes a que te mimen, sino a ser espiritual.
Lo que no logramos hoy, el propósito que Dios tenía para hoy: si no se cumple, no fuimos agradecidos del día. Sin siembra no hay cosecha, y se pierde la vida con las manos vacías.
Las pruebas no son castigo: son formación. Búscate en tus espaldas, y no tienes ni un azote. Aguántalas, no huyas como cobarde; el estudiante estrella es el que se educa de lo que aprende.

Israel dio cuarenta años de vueltas en el desierto para saber lo que había en su corazón, y solo los de veinte años hacia abajo entraron. La prueba también se puede tomar para endurecer el corazón.
No te afanes por el mañana: la ansiedad es temor anticipado y nos hace morir el presente. No cargues hoy con el problema que todavía no existe. La fe en bloque pesa; día por día es liviana.
He aquí ahora el tiempo aceptable: el llamado de Dios no es para algún día, sino para hoy. Y no nos cansemos de hacer el bien: a su tiempo segaremos, si no desmayamos.

Sal del dolor del pasado y vive tu presente: «mi presente soy». Cumple hoy lo que Dios tenía para hoy, sin queja.

Así lo dice la Biblia. En palabras sencillas: este día lo hizo Dios, así que vamos a estar contentos en él. La pastora dijo que no tenemos millones de días: son contados, y los ángeles los cuentan y ven cómo agradecemos cada día que Dios regala.
1Cada día es un regalo de Dios. No lo tienes porque sí: Dios te lo da porque le gusta dártelo. Un regalo se agradece y se usa bien.
2Un día se desperdicia cuando lo pasas quejándote, con mal humor o diciendo «no voy a amar». Ese día se fue, y ya no vuelve.
3María corrió al sepulcro de Jesús mientras los discípulos estaban escondidos y asustados. Ella no conocía el susto, porque conocía a Dios. Y ese día le volvió el gozo.
4Cuando algo difícil te pasa no es un castigo: es una clase. El estudiante estrella es el que aprende de lo que le enseñan. Aguanta la prueba; no huyas.
5Israel dio vueltas cuarenta años por el desierto para ver lo que tenían en el corazón. Muchos se pusieron más duros en vez de arrepentirse, y no llegaron.
6No te preocupes hoy por lo que puede pasar mañana. Dios cuida cada día. Cargar todos los días a la vez pesa mucho; un día a la vez es liviano.
Para conversar en casa
¿Qué cosa buena puedes hacer hoy, y no mañana?
Esta semana, al levantarte, di «este día lo hizo Dios» y haz ese día una cosa buena. Una sola —una— hasta el próximo domingo.
